World Championship Boxing returns to HBF Stadium!

HBF Stadium is gearing up for a World Championship boxing bout as WA sensation Alex Winwood takes on undefeated WBA Super Champion Thammanoon Niyomtrong for the WBA Minimumweight World Title on Saturday 7 September.

Winwood, with a record of 4 wins and 0 losses, is aiming to make Australian boxing history by winning the world title in just his fifth professional fight.

A Tokyo Olympian and 2022 Manchester Commonwealth Games Australian representative, Winwood was recently named the 2024 NAIDOC Sportsperson of the Year.

Facing Winwood is Thailand’s Thammanoon Niyomtrong, an undefeated champion with 24 wins and 11 successful defenses over eight years.

The night will also feature exciting undercard bouts, including WBC World Rated Steve Gago, WA State Heavyweight Title fight between Lewis Clarke (Champion) and Dylan Winter (Challenger), and the Stephen Michael Cup clash between Dino Ross and Cameron Thompson. Plus, appearances by Ty Narkle, Matt Garlett, and former AFLW star Kirby Bentley.
