VenuesWest is proud to support Community Partner, Autism West by hosting the 11th MediWest Distributors Team Sprint Cup at HBF Stadium on Sunday 7 April and encourages everyone to get involved and make a difference in our local community.
As part of our partnership with Autism West through the VenuesWest Community Partner Program, VenuesWest is encouraging local children and adults to get involved in the event, which aims to raise awareness about autism.
The event, which is held during Autism Awareness Month, offers different relay swimming categories for children and adults, and will include many fun activities, games and novelty events for the whole family. All funds raised will help Autism West create opportunities for teenagers and young adults with autism to gain skills and experience enabling them to connect successfully with others and the world around them. Since its inception in 2008, the event has raised over $1,010,000.
Autism West CEO Louise Sheehy said, “We’re proud to present this unique inclusive community swimming event in partnership with VenuesWest. With the community’s help we aim to attract 400 swimmers and raise $40,000 at this year’s event. Who knows, maybe there will be a ‘Dunk the CEO’ novelty event on offer as well!”
The Community Partners Program is a partnership between VenuesWest and a select group of charity organisations offering tailored opportunities and benefits to assist them in achieving their core objectives.
VenuesWest CEO David Etherton says it’s wonderful to be able to give back to the local community through this partnership and see the entire community benefit. VenuesWest will also jump in the pool and take part with their very own team.
“It’s such a privilege to be in a position to be able to give back to the community through such events and the VenuesWest Community Partners Program provides this avenue.” said Mr Etherton.
